How to Apply

Watch this space for information about the 2018 course – fees, repertoire, etc.  You can use the online application process, or download an application form and send it to the Course Administrator, Tile Cottage, 34b West Avenue, Filey YO14 9BE.

Demand for most courses is high, so please plan to apply early and in any case no later than 30 June 2018.

Applications should be accompanied by a £50 deposit per person and full fees must be paid by 30 June 2018. Payment may be made by bank transfer (please ask the Administrator/Secretary for the number and address of our account), cheques payable to NLMS, or Post Office Giro. Applicants from outside the UK must use bank transfer. Payment may also be made by instalments between February and August 2017 (please contact the Administrator if you wish to pay your fees in this way).

Please note that deposits are not refundable, except to those whom the Summer School cannot accept. Half fees will be refunded for cancellations received by 1 July 2017. After that date no fees are refundable, EVEN IF YOU FAIL TO ATTEND. You are therefore advised to take out a holiday insurance for the week.

Please use the space given at the end of the application form to answer the questions below which will help us allocate you to the most appropriate course:

All Instrumentalists

  • (a) Orchestral experience and position in orchestra.
  • (b) Works recently studied.
  • (c) Name of teacher and/or music college.
  • (d) Is your sight-reading considered average/good/very good?
  • (e) Additional (& doubling) instruments played and standard.
  • (f) Do you play the piano? If so, give approximate standard.

Choir

  • (a) List choirs with which you have sung.
  • (b) Give full details of musical background.
  • (c) Indicate any solo work undertaken.
  • (d) List any instruments played with approximate grade.
