Sinfonietta
Principal Conductor: Michael Axtell

This course is intended for instrumentalists of approximately Grade 5-7 standard, but applications from string players of a slightly lower standard with good experience will be considered.

Places for wind and brass players are strictly limited, and early application is advised.

Repertoire will include:

  • Greig: Peer Gynt Suite No. 1 op.46
  • Haydn: Symphony No.104 in D (The London)

The String Ensemble will be conducted by David Lewis. Appropriate works for study will be chosen from the rich repertoire of music for string orchestra and will include Lars Erik Larsson’s “Little Serenade” and Warlock’s Capriol Suite.
